The secret to cracking the code and looking like the four-time Mr. Universe lies in his diet. The Titan recently uploaded a video on his YouTube channel revealing the diet he’s following to look like this even at his age. Let’s dig deeper to find out what the former powerlifter has been hiding.

O’Hearn’s off-season plan to keep your body functional

In the video, O’Hearn was seen in the kitchen cooking his meal while he spilled the beans on how to change the functionality of your body. The Titan highlighted that the person who starts with high calories and drops their calories to start burning their body is called a “consistent deficit dieter.”

The former powerlifter mentioned that if you’re following this approach, it might not be a good decision for your off-season. He mentioned that while on a deficit diet, no one knows when you’ll make a comeback, and it might take years. The Titan then explained, “When you finally go back and go, hey, so I’ve been dieting, and I fast three days a week, and I do low calories the other days, and I don’t eat carbs, and you stay that way for years, you’re setting your body up to function off that, so when you go, hey, I need to slice up again cuz age has gotten to me, uh, the body doesn’t seem to be burning.

The 55-year-old bodybuilder shed light on the fact that a nine-month or a year off-season is required to “take those calories up.” This process gradually makes you stronger. He then gave the example of his wife, Mona Muresan, and highlighted that she consumes 336 grams of carbs a day. “Most of you guys are not eating that much; you’re not even that eating that much in protein so don’t even say that, so she’s doing that,” said O’Hearn. In a past video, O’Hearn’s wife shared how she helps the Titan maintain his strict diet.

Muresan’s way to make your diet a little easier

In the previous video, Muresan shared that she used a slushy recipe to keep the powerlifter on his strict diet“I’m gonna give him his little treat; he hasn’t had this in a while, but this is going to keep him going,” says Muresan as she prepares the ingredients for the slushy for the 55-year-old bodybuilder.

She added supplements one by one and started with the amnio sauce. The wife of the former Mr. California explained that Amino Sauce has “some barach chain (amino acids).” Then she added one leucine and said, “A little bit of leucine is really important.” She blended all the ingredients, added some crystal light sweetener, and added, “It gives it a nice, sweet, tangy taste, so he feels like he’s having a little treat.” The last thing Muresan did was freeze it to make it more like ice cream.
