As they are out of the Tom Brady era, various analysts have given out claims about the franchise’s future. However, one of Colin Cowherd’s claims concerning Bill Belichick could shamble up the franchise.

As they enter a new season under Mac Jones, Bill Belichick tried to tumble all the rocks during free agency. The need to prove themselves Super Bowl-worthy is critical. Despite not naming their play-callers on both sides, Belichick developed the roster efficiently.

 

Bill Belichick remains one of the NFL’s superior minds in coaching. He led up a stellar era alongside the NFL GOAT, Tom Brady. But since his departure, the Patriots cannot come close to another Lombardi win. Belichick may not stop until he gets another ring. However, a top NFL media pundit has other thoughts.

Show host Colin Cowherd made five ‘riskiest, biggest predictions’ for the 2022 NFL season. One of them concerns Belichick’s future. Cowherd believes Bill Belichick, who is in his 23rd season with the Patriots, will consider retiring after the upcoming season.

Cowherd mentioned via NESN, “First of all, retirement’s weird. He likes to golf, he’s got a house in Jupiter, Florida and a beautiful girlfriend. Nice round number of 70 (years old). He hasn’t named coordinators. He’s got kids on the staff. The reality is (Patriots owner) Bob Kraft and Belichick have always had a little bit of a turbulent relationship.”

The Patriots were relevant till the time Tom Brady was a part of the roster. Bot Colin Cowherd believes that the Patriots have lost their glamour. The NFL Pundit stated the Patriots are at the midpoint. Moreover, Belichick not identifying any coordinators raised more questions about his strategic approach. Cowherd also believes they have the league’s least effective passing offense.

When New England went 10-7-0 under Mac Jones, the Boston fans expected the upcoming years to be more progressive. But now, many think that the Patriots could regress in 2022 because of roster and coaching turnover. At this point in his career, Bill Belichick has nothing left to prove. However, demonstrating his ability to lead New England to a championship without Tom Brady is one goal he wants to attain.
