The defending champions. Los Angeles Rams’ season just goes from bad to worse. With a losing record, the team doesn’t look anywhere close to their campaign last year, which resulted in a Vince Lombardi trophy. However, their luck does not seem to get any better as starting QB Matthew Stafford gets put on IR.

As he enters the injured reserve list, Stafford will miss four games. There are only six games remaining in the regular season. As things stand, the Rams are unlikely to make a postseason run.
LA Rams Planning ahead
The starting quarterback for the Rams, Matthew Stafford, was cleared from his concussion protocol on Friday. This development gave hope to Rams’ fans. However, this was very short-lived, as the QB was ruled out of the game due to a neck injury. Later he was put on IR for the same injury, which will mean 4 weeks of no football for Stafford as he concludes his second season with the Los Angeles franchise.
While this would allow him to return for the last two weeks, it might just be the best decision to leave him out and let him recover fully for the next season. Since the postseason isn’t on the charts for the Rams, a lower finish could possibly help them with a better position for a draft pick.

End of the season for Matthew Stafford
It hasn’t been a year of sorts for Stafford as he has struggled on the field throughout the season. He missed out on most of the offseason with an elbow injury. Having not recovered fully from it, he took to the field and continued playing through it. This resulted in poor performances in the first half of the season. Add a few hits to the head, and the QB was put on concussion protocol twice for the year.

With a season of ups and down and not being able to find a rhythm, Stafford hasn’t been able to give his best for his franchise.

It definitely has been a forgettable season for the Rams. Stafford’s absence will mean young John Wolford will get a shot. It will be a chance for him to showcase his abilities as LA will spend the remainder of the season aiming to rebuild for the coming year.
