The actual F1 2022 season hasn’t even begun yet, but already there is so much going on in the sport. There are some huge new developments in the sport and Carlos Sainz’s new contract might be the latest addition to that list. The Spaniard has shared his intention and Ferrari’s new sponsor hints at his future. Carlos is one of the most promising drivers on the grid. Last year, he joined the Italian giants after completing his brief stint with McLaren. He has been phenomenal ever since he has signed for the Maranello side. The 27-year-old finished fifth last season ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc and former teammate Lando Norris in 2021.

Sainz’s current contract only keeps his ties with the legendary F1 team until the end of the 2022 season. However, the Spaniard and Ferrari want to continue their association and are reportedly into negotiations for a new contract. The Smooth Operator has stated, “It is no secret that we are in the renewal phase what I don’t know exactly is when the time will come when we will agree on everything. We are all happy, there are steps forward .”

However, the Reds did initially face issues with porpoising. But Ferrari soon improved these issues and even their driver Carlos Sainz praised the new upgrades. Sainz shared, “And obviously, you have seen that we’ve brought quite a few upgrades, let’s call them more than upgrades. They are modifications to the floor to see if we can reduce the porpoising without affecting too much the performance.”

The Spaniard added, “Some are working, most of them are going in the right direction which shows the team is working well and already a huge effort in a matter of weeks of days to create new alterations to the floor to have them ready for here in just seven days.”
