Phil Mickelson changed tremendously since signing with LIV Golf. Growing facial hair and becoming more careful around media were some of the changes the fans noticed in the golfer since he joined the Invitational Series. However, the most surprising thing was the tattoo fans spotted on his hand during the Saudi Arabia event press meet.
The LIV rebel opened up his thoughts on the interview the writer Alan Shipnuck claims to had with him. According to Mickelson, he never had such a talk with Shipnuck, which means he never called the leaders of the sponsoring country of LIV Golf “scary mother f**kers.”

The interview received a lot of attention from the golf world. However, what distracted them from it was the tattoo people found on his hand during the press meet. Even the golf influencer, Paige Spiranac, showed curiosity to know the mysterious tattoo’s meaning.
Paige Spiranac found the LIV rebel’s tattoo weird
According to reports, Mickelson’s tattoo on his left hand during the press meet was a henna design. The golf world could figure out that the henna design looked similar to his brand logo, a silhouette of him leaping after draining the winning putt at the 2004 Masters.

Upon looking closely, many fans claimed it looked nothing like Mickelson’s logo. It became so popular that Paige Renee Spiranac discussed it on her latest podcast episode, Goalposts, Zozo + Q&A.
In the latest episode of her ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee’ podcast, Spiranac shared her thoughts with her co-hosts Samantha Marks and Dan Regester on the tattoo of Mickelson. “He had this weird henna tattoo of himself… his logo of him jumping,” she said in the podcast. “It was just beyond weird.” Furthermore, she added, “It was so weird and so bizarre and so Phil.”
Phil Mickelson opened up about his tattoo
Like many others, even Mickelson revealed his tattoo didn’t turn out to be great. “Didn’t really turn out that way (laughing). It’s not permanent, though,” he said.

The 6-time major champion also explained that he did the henna tattoo for fun. “There was some people making little painting on little henna tattoos,” he added. “So I went for it.”
Other than the tattoo, nothing special happened to Mickelson during the LIV Golf event held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He secured 37th place after three rounds of the tournament, in which he made three birdies, one bogey, and a double bogey.
