British Grand Slam winner Andy Murray voiced his opinion on the ongoing Lionel Messi transfer saga. The growing turmoils within the club reached the breaking point when the Argentine phenom issued a request for a split. Murray takes the opportunity to state he would definitely “like to see him playing the Premier League”
“I would like to see him playing the Premier League, to be honest. I don’t really care who he plays for. I follow Arsenal. I’m not thinking he’s going to be joining them.”

Messi rose through the ranks of La Masia, Barcelona’s youth academy, and is now the backbone of the Catalan giants. He never ventured outside his known periphery like other players commonly do.
His greatness is often shadowed with the question of how he would fare outside his comfort zone. Murray sweeps aside this uncertainty and states that for the very best in the field, playing conditions do not matter at all.
“You know, I have heard a lot of people saying, Oh, could he do it on a cold Wednesday in Stoke, and I have always said, Of course, he could, because he’s the best player ever. He’d be absolutely fine. I’d like to see him show a few people that he can do that.”

Undoubtedly Murray is rooting for a Premier League move for Messi so that he gets a few more opportunities to watch him play.
“I would like to see him come to the Premier League. Be great for the League, for sure. Maybe get the opportunity to go & watch him live a few more times. I watched him a bit when he was much younger. When I lived in Barcelona I got to see him play a couple of times live.”
The British tennis player is currently in the United States for the ongoing Western and Southern Open. He is expected to participate in the US Open set to kick off on August 31.
