Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War multiplayer differs greatly from Modern Warfare. The games are not as fast-paced and require greater precision while shooting down targets. The reason behind this is the lower time to kill of all weapons in Cold War. Therefore, players need more bullets to kill their opponents.

This sole factor is responsible for changing the play styles that players employed in MW. Slide canceling still exists but is not a viable option anymore. Since the TTK is higher, pre-aiming and playing intuitively is the way to go in Cold War.

Change is both good and bad, and with the new era of Call of Duty, change is something everyone was longing for. Modern Warfare had way too many problems, which everyone from pros to casual pub players complained about. While the devil known as skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) still exists, Cold War multiplayer is actually a lot more fun and a learning process in itself.

  1. Don’t slide– Sliding is very loud in Cold War. When you are on a streak and have slowly made your way into the enemy base, the worst thing to do would be to slide around. It will give away your position and get you killed. Walking and crouching are way better options to be covert. If you have to slide, make sure it is for cover or head glitches.
  2. Know your perks– Perks are very important and will help you survive in every match. While playing pubs, start off with ‘Ghost’ to stay off the radars. Later you can move on to ‘Cold-Blooded’ to avoid any AI powered scorestreaks.
  3. Where’s your Silencer?– While playing public matches, if you are wondering why more than one enemy is pushing you after a kill, it is because you are not playing with a silencer. Using a silencer is of paramount importance to not give away one’s position after a kill. Enjoy the confusion of your enemies when they cannot figure out where you are shooting from. The sneakier, the better.
  4. Dropshot, don’t jump shot– Use the Airborne Elastic Wrap attachment on your guns to help you dropshot and catch your enemies off guard. Dropshots are a very important part of CoD multiplayer, and while it may be difficult at first, there is nothing more efficient.
  5. Rank up your guns– Playing with minimal attachments and low ranked guns will only make your life miserable. The best mode to grind for your guns is Dirty Bombs-Fireteam. Rank up your weapons to use the best gunsmith build to your advantage.
