The former Liverpool and Chelsea boss, Rafael Benitez has apparently told Florentino Perez that he wishes to take up the reigns at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Benitez’s appointment could be confirmed very soon. At Real Madrid, it is possible for a manager to be sacked if you fail to win any trophies during the season. Many reports suggest that Benitez has already landed in Madrid. On-going rumours say that it is just matter of hours or maybe a day before the news becomes official.

Real announced in a press conference earlier today that Ancelotti had been relieved of his duties following the club’s “NOT AT PAR” show in this season’s Champions League and La Liga campaigns. Benitez will be the club’s 13th coach since 2003.

Despite clinching ‘La Decima’ last year, the Italian’s results this season has been deemed unacceptable by the board. Although, Ancelotti’s next steps remain unclear, the AC Milan idol has been tipped as a possible replacement for Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini or Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers.
