IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad had a banter of sorts on Twitter, after each of the sides tried to get at the other in what looked like a friendly sledge which would bring out a smile rather than a brawl.
In doing so, an Ashes rivalry got a touch of IPL or “Desi tadka.”
When you see Ben Stokes and David Warner, the 2019 Ashes series had quite opposite fortunes stored for each of them. Stokes played an innings of a lifetime, making it a series he would never forget and he would never want to.

Very soon after Australian captain criticised Ben Stokes of David Warner’s name to spike his book sales, the IPL franchises used it to spike a competitive jibe.
Stokes, in his recently released book, suggested that it was Warner’s constant chirping that kept him motivated during the Ashes. Later, Paine hit the comments as just a marketing strategy to augment the sales of his book.
Rajasthan Royals, the team for which Stokes plays, used the book comments against Warner’s team- Sunrisers.
The banter started when the Royals posted a picture of Stokes and Warner, with a caption suggesting the Sunrisers to read the book.
Sunrisers tried to get back with the IPL record of Warner, but the Royals were quick to point out his troubles against Stuart Broad.
The conversation went on to a completely different subject when it ended with bringing Ravichandran Ashwin’s “makad-ing” incident into context.
Here is the thread of the conversation obtained from Twitter-
