Ben Askren has been out of the spotlight for a while now since his knock out loss to Jorge Masvidal. However, he will be back into the action real soon to face Damian Maia in the main event of UFC Singapore. That’s not he has been on the news for recently. Ben Askren and Conor McGregor are going at each other on social media in the past few hours.

It all started with Askren tweeting about McGregor vs Nurmagomedov rematch. Askren said:
“I got hit by 1 errant shot, Lesson learned and won’t happen again! Conor McGregor got his ass bear for 18 minutes by Khabib and that will happen damn near every time.”:

The former Bellator and ONE FC champion, Ben Askren also commented on Dustin Poirier calling out McGregor for a rematch: ” You don’t want to get smashed by Khabib again. Take the Dustin fight and be happy. And be nicer to old people.”

Well, things just got interesting when the former lightweight champion, Conor McGregor responded to Ben Askren in a recent tweet saying ” Why so serious?

Now we have the Funky one doing the honor of replying to The Notorious One. Askren said:
” Some of us do real work for a living. Not parading around like a drunk asshole punching old people and stomping on phones like a pouty child. looking forward to an incoherent response.”

The times have changed for McGregor now. What used to be other fighters calling out McGregor for a big payday is now Conor McGregor calling out every opponent after a big fight. McGregor has called out the entire top 5 fighters of the lightweight division including Ferguson, Gaethje, Cerrone. he even called out Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar. However, there has not been any news regarding the next fight of Conor McGregor.

Ben Askren recently took a shot at that and questioned Conor’s will to compete at the highest level at this stage of his life anymore. Askren said:

” Let’s be serious. Conor made too much money to ever have the desire to train at world champion level. He ain’t getting younger those times are gone. only “glory days” and hot air now.”

Reportedly, Conor Mcgregor last competed inside the octagon in UFC 229 against Khabib Nurmagomedov. Since then he has been inactive and has been involved in many illegal activities outside the octagon. It would be fascinating to see how McGregor responds to Ben Askren.
