Former UFC contender Cat Zingano will register her Bellator debut against Gabby Holloway in two days.
Following her loss to Megan Anderson at UFC 232, Zingano was inactive in the UFC for almost two years. While there was a massive turmoil regarding her next fight, it will now happen in a different promotion.

That said, Zingano has not departed from UFC on a bad note. Instead, she has cited some interesting explanations for her move to Bellator, where she will continue her further run.
Cat Zingano still has a long way to go
In the UFC, Zingano has beaten some of the best fighters from her roster, including the likes of Amanda Nunes and Miesha Tate. Thus she has always been hailed as one of the best fighters ever.
While Bellator will bring some new challenges for her, she has got some other reasons to justify her move. Cat Zingano was recently filming for an Emmy-nominated docu-series ‘Why I fight’ and it has highly influenced her move to Scott Coker’s yard.
Speaking with MMA Junkie, Zingano said, “I got some ultimatums. It wasn’t the first time I’ve ever gotten an ultimatum. One of the things I was doing was — even just filming that series, there was a little bit of struggle there because ESPN owned the UFC (broadcasting rights), and I was filming for ESPN.
“I was kind of getting pulled in different directions as far as what I could do while I was filming as far as fighting.”
Meanwhile, she has also explored the options of being a free agent and somehow found it interesting. Thus she left the UFC on a positive note. Talking about her relationship with the UFC administrators, Zingano said:
“We’re good. (The UFC and I) still have a good relationship and rapport. It was right for me to make the move, to make these changes. So far, I’m extremely happy about everything. It’s no hurt feelings or anything. It’s just I got the option to bite, and I bit. I took the chance.”

Zingano desires to face featherweight champion Cris Cyborg in Bellator. Since she already has wins over Tate and Nunes, a win over Cyborg will enrich her resume.

However, she will have to win a couple of fights before she can step inside the cage for the world title. We can expect some intense matchups between the elites soon.
