Bellator MMA President Scott Coker engaged in a press conference with the media to announce some massive promotional updates. The company has made some huge strides as of late, including a new Television deal and new international locations. Chiefly, Coker followed up the press-conference with an exclusive interview with MMA Junkie’s Nolan King and addressed additional topics.
The mild-mannered promoter gave further insight into the company’s plans for 2021 and the locations on the cards. Scott Coker explained that Bellator was planning on re-entering the European market following the massive shut down caused by COVID-19.

Scott Coker chimes in
The former Strike Force figurehead mentioned certain key locations that were being targeted for 2021. Furthermore, he shared his hopes for possibly including fight fans in the cities that the company will go. The COVID-19 pandemic has ensured the live events across all sports are underway in the absence of a live crowd.
“It would be nice to go to Ireland with a full crowd. It will be nice to go back to London and have a full crowd. Go back to Israel next November, now we have already booked a date in Israel next year. We already have a date at the ‘3Arena’ in Ireland for the next year.”
“This year 2020 has been interesting, and I’d say at the end of the year we just put a pin in it. Next year is a brand new year and hopefully, by the second quarter, we’ll be back to doing fights inside of an arena, with a crowd.”
Moreover, the news comes just a day after promoter Bob Arum announced that Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder will take place with a crowd. Although it appears Bellator’s accommodations are far more downsized, when compared to boxing. Combat sports fans have been at the edge of their seat to finally receive news about attendance based events.
Scott Coker and Bellator MMA would be the first major MMA organization to announce plans to return to normalcy. UFC President Dana White has been non committal on this front and is keen to keep churning out events. Fans and media alike will be intrigued to see the implementation strategy that Bellator uses to launch a comeback.
