UFC veteran Jon Jones is sweating it out in the gym as he looks to make a debut in heavyweight soon. Although he is currently at loggerheads with UFC, it hasn’t stopped him from going the extra miles in the gym for a possible debut sometime later this year or early next year.
Just like Jones, there is another great fighter whose return to the ring has been a constant topic of discussion, is Fedor Emelianenko. The heavyweight behemoth was out of action for two years since his last fight against Quinton Jackson in 2019.
Fedor Emelianenko is expected to announce tomorrow that he is returning to action later this year, sources say. Opponent TBD. Slated for October. The 44-year-old legend hasn’t fought since his December 2019 win over Rampage Jackson. Presser set for 11 am et.

‘The Last Emperor’ is considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time. Any fight involving him is a sure shot of a money-spinner. But right now, there is no opponent decided yet for him.
Jones, who is out of action primarily because of money payment issues, could be hinting towards a cash-rich matchup with Emelianenko. But for now, Jones is under UFC contract, and Emelianenko (39-6) would be fighting under the Bellator MMA banner.
It will take something for getting these two under the same ring for a mouthwatering clash. But as things stand, it’s a distant possibility.
