Cris Cyborg is a dominant champion who has claimed titles in every single promotion. The fighter ruled at Invicta FC, Strikeforce, UFC, and holds Bellator MMA’s 145 lb championship. She claimed the title in January at Bellator 238 and is yet to defend her belt.
The promotion put out a tweet asking fans to pick an opponent for Cyborg. One fan opted not to do so and called out Cyborg for departing the UFC. He wrote, “No real competition in Bellator, should’ve stayed in the [UFC].”

Cyborg saw the reply and hit back. She said, “Who’s the top competition in the UFC if we agree Dana wasn’t making the rematch?”

Cyborg lost her featherweight belt to ‘Lioness’ at UFC 232 in December 2018. Later, she fought Felicia Spencer whereas Nunes defended her bantamweight. According to Cyborg, the UFC president wasn’t keen on booking the rematch.
The user name-dropped Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko as viable opponents. However, fighting ‘Bullet’ is not possible as there is a 20 lb difference between both fighters.
Cyborg pointed out the same and touched on the scant UFC featherweight division. “Valentina is 125lbs. Nunes fight can still happen but there is no division at 145lbs and I wanted to be active during the prime of my career I didn’t want to be sitting a year with no opponents.”

Most contenders are bantamweight fighters who move up a division. Only in recent times, the promotion has signed names like Felicia Spencer and Megan Anderson.
However, it isn’t as deep as the other three women’s divisions in the UFC. And as champion, she has to fight a credible challenger who has multiple wins under her belt in a particular division.

The Bellator MMA women’s featherweight division is stacked. And in the absence of a women’s bantamweight division, the challengers are pure featherweights who have earned a shot at the belt.
Cyborg beat Julia Budd for the belt and had an opinion of who she would like to fight next. The champion tweeted, “Blencowe has won 3 in a row and a 2X world boxing champion, she is #1 contender. I don’t pick my opponents I want the next contender”

The ideology is consistent with her previous tweets of wanting to stay active and fighting contenders. In the UFC, she beat Tonya Evinger, who fought just once at 145 lb. Later, she defended against bantamweight turned featherweights Holly Holm and Yana Kunitskaya.
