Usman Nurmagomedov is set to return to action this weekend as the undefeated Dagestani prospect enters the Bellator cage yet again. This will be Usman’s second appearance inside the Bellator cage. The Russian star will fight Brazilian Luis Muro in a lightweight clash.

The 23-year-old previously fought at Bellator 255 and earned a decision against Mike Hamel. Bellator 263 this weekend will mark his second fight in the promotion. Needless to say, he is a highly-touted prospect. And his undefeated record shows why he is hyped up so much by the fans and experts. Also, Usman happens to be former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teammate.

He trains alongside the likes of Khabib and Islam Makhachev. Certainly, he has got all the guidance he needs to be a successful MMA fighter as he is accompanied by some of the best lightweight fighters in the world at the moment. Who has Usman Nurmagomedov fought so far?

Before joining Bellator MMA, Usman has fought in promotions like Brave CF, Gorilla Fighting, UAE Warriors, and more. Although he hasn’t fought any big-name opponent yet, considering his age and experience level, his performances inside the Octagon have been more than satisfactory.

Out of Usman’s 12 professional wins, only 2 have gone to the judges’ decision. He has finished all other 10 contests in his career so far. 7 T/KO and 3 submission wins make up for his impressive tally. His last finish came at the Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov memorial tournament against Svyatoslav Shabanov in 2020.

Usman obviously trains at the famous American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California along with his peers. He is always under the strict supervision of Javier Mendez. And the fact that Khabib Nurmagomedov is acting as a coach right now, should certainly help him progress more.

Usman has been tipped to reach bigger heights in his professional career. He has certainly lived up to the astronomical expectations from him so far. How the rest of his Bellator career plays out, remains to be seen. But he has already made the fact clear that he wants to earn his way to the UFC as soon as possible.
