The Belgian Grand Prix marks the return of Formula One from a very long summer break (for fans, at least). The spectacular circuit, Spa Francorchamps will certainly provide spectacular action, like it has provided over the years. Every year, the circuit is a host to thousands of fans who gather around to meet their favourite F1 drivers, get their autographs or pose for a few photos with them. However, one such fan decided to mess up big time with Kimi Raikkonen.

Kimi Raikkonen, the Alfa Romeo driver, reported that a totally drunk person from among the fans in the pit lane tried to misbehave with him. Watch the interview below. Apologies for the poor quality.

Kimi Raikkonen mentioned, “I don’t know what happened. He was obviously drunk and at first he hit me, and then he started to get very upset. When I told him to quit, he started grunting about certain things.”

The fan, as reported wore a Red Bull hat and tried to push Kimi away and started arguing with him later. Seeing the same, FIA Steward Mika Salo came in between and prevented the issue from escalating and becoming something big. Thankfully, the drunk person was taken away and the issue was resolved then and there.

Raikkonen, for more than a few reasons, has been the centre of attention for this week’s race. Earlier, Alfa’s reserver driver, Marcus Ericsson was called on duty for the Belgian Grand Prix citing uncertainty in Raikkonen being fit for the race. While early rumours said that Kimi is facing some stomach issues, later it was qualified that he got a leg injury during one of his adventures in the summer break.

Lets hope Kimi manages to race this weekend. He has shown no signs of any trouble for the moment. Belgian Grand Prix has always been a race where he’s showcased a lot of success having taken 4 race victories and a pole position. Alfa Romeo is riding high on Kimi Raikkonen’s speed and experience at the moment, so lets hope they keep up the momentum.

As for the rest, the Belgian Grand Prix is critical for the top 6. Lewis Hamilton will be looking to extend his lead in order to seal the championship at the earliest possible. Valtteri Bottas, having recently gotten his contract extended, will be looking to prove to Mercedes that he can fight Hamilton and still be in the championship. Ferrari drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, will be desperate for their team’s first victory. Max Verstappen, will be hoping to give his Dutch fans a show to remember, while aiming to overtake Bottas in the championship. Alex Albon / Pierre Gasly, after the sudden swap will both be hoping to make an impact in their respective teams.

All in all, this weekend is going to be a treat for every F1 fan.
