Yet, the Tokyo Olympics 2020 saw cardboard beds made for the athletes, which garnered several questions towards their hospitality sector. However, as for the Winter Olympics beds, they are sent from heaven, according to Shaun White.

The glaring differences between the amenities provided to athletes at both the Games are evident. Although it is creative for Japan to make cardboard beds, athletes need a proper rest after an intense training session. Hence, the Winter Olympics organizers, hands down, outdid the Summer Games’ hospitality.

Better beds at the Winter Olympics for Shaun White

The beds at the Winter Olympics are remote-controlled. Imagine laying down here after a hard day’s work? Sounds cool right. The hospitality aka pampering committee of the Beijing Winter Olympics has notched up a level. The beds in the Games village have eight feature settings for the comfort of the athletes. One feature includes zero-gravity sleeping that helps the athletes to recover after their training sessions or event days. Giving us a visual tour, White showed off his luxury room to fans in a fun-filled video.

White’s room had sophisticated furniture, vibrant shades, as well as snacks, making it a room fit for champions. From his workstation to his bedroom, the place radiated the energy needed to recoup and rejuvenate for the big day. Undoubtedly, it is a significant upgrade from the beds in Tokyo.

Cardboard beds at the Tokyo Olympics 2020

Even though recovery is the most important aspect for any athlete, the Tokyo Olympics saw sustainable cardboard beds with normal mattresses for athletes. Although it is an environment-friendly approach, it didn’t serve the basic needs of athletes. The recovery time period for every sporting athlete is essential to boost their chances in various competitions. Without proper rest, things will be hard. Hence, these beds in Tokyo received widespread criticism from all corners of the world.

But, China’s luxurious beds have impressed the athletes as they look happy at the Winter Olympic Games. Especially Shaun White, as he set the vibes for the incoming snowboard half-pipe competitions.
