The artist in Chloe Kim has done it, yet again. Becoming the first woman to win back-t0-back gold medals in the half-pipe competition, she is now a legend. Ever since she came into snowboarding, the talent was there for people to see. By not allowing her to compete at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics due to the age limit, Kim has certainly come a long way.

She won the gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and repeated the same feat in China this year. Not only did she win the competition, but she also turned in a remarkable amount of sophisticated tricks, new to the women’s competition. Hence, Kim has etched her name into the folklore.
Chloe Kim wins gold as fans react
Landing 1080s, a 900, and backside 540, she took home the gold medal in her very first run. Her first run was perfect, with no mistakes at all. With the talent on display in Beijing, Kim has set herself apart from the rest of the competitors, year after year.
There were no doubts after her 2021 world championship run, she would reach the stars in Beijing. That’s exactly what she did. By not resting on her laurels, Kim is an inspiration for all.

Would it be a Chloe Kim moment at the Olympics if she wasn't hungry? Almost done with the press conference, and she says, "Also if anyone has some snacks in their pockets, I'm hungry."
Chocolate, pastries and treats instantly materialized.

Chloe Kim becomes the first woman to win two Olympic halfpipe gold medals. She went 19 months off a snowboard in 2019-20, did Princeton freshman year, returned to snow, learned new tricks but never needed them (nor her back-to-back 1080s) to win all seven contests.
— Nick Zaccardi (@nzaccardi) February 10, 2022
Chloe Kim's first run included a 900 and two 1080s. No rider did more than one 10, and most didn't do that. Scores 94 to put her in first.
— Rachel Axon (@RachelAxon) February 10, 2022
She finished the competition with the best score of 94.00, which was more than enough to win her the medal. Back in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, she scored 98.25, which became one of the iconic displays of snowboarding in the world. Hence, Kim just continues to get better with her balance on the board, second to none. A person who dares to do new tricks, she nearly came up with a perfect cab 1260.
What a performance!
The cab 1260 is not an easy trick to do as no woman has landed it in the half-pipe competition. With the sensational Kim attempting 1260, it is clear she would want to land this trick soon, that may be her next step. Most of the fans could not believe she even tried that trick.
Just realized that Chloe Kim trying cab 1260 is literally a triple axel in snowboarding 🤯🤯🤯 #winterolympics #figureskating #snowboarding
— Ashley Wagner (@AshWagner2010) February 10, 2022
Camera just caught Chloe Kim saying she wants to try a run that includes a 1260 👀 👀 👀. You can do that when you have an eight-point lead.
— Michelle Bruton (@MichelleBruton) February 10, 2022
On Chloe Kim going for the first 1260 in a women's snowboard halfpipe competition: Shaun White won the 2006 Olympics with back-to-back 1080s (in 18-foot pipe; 22 feet ever since). Kim won 2018 Olympics with back-to-back 1080s. First 1260 in Olympic men's competition was 2010.
— Nick Zaccardi (@nzaccardi) February 10, 2022
Chloe Kim falls on her second attempt at the first-ever women's halfpipe 1260 on her third and final run. But THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE SHE WINS GOLD!

Chloe Kim is an absolute monster. Could’ve just done a farewell run but still went for the 1260 even with the gold in the bag. GOAT
— Petrov McGuire (@McguirePetrov) February 10, 2022
Chloe Kim still tried that 1260 after she got her gold secured. That’s that #MambaMentality. That’s why she won gold again. @ChloeKim #TeamUSA
