Big Bash League’s highest run scorer Chris Lynn played another blistering innings on Sunday as Brisbane Heat cruised past Sydney Sixers in BBL 2019-20.
He missed a century by six runs as he scored 94 off just 35 balls. His innings took Brisbane to 209 runs in their 20 overs, and helped them win the match by 48 runs.
Starting the BBL, Chris Lynn did not look on top of his form, returning scores of just nine and six in the first two games. Ahead of the Heat’s third match Lynn, former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh tweeted about what has gone wrong for Lynn.

After his blistering knock, Lynn revealed that he actually saw the tweet before the game and it motivated him to do well.
He can bounce back but his batting has gone from fearless to fearful.

“I actually read that tweet,” Lynn said after the game as per News 18. “I was going to text ‘Junior’ (Waugh) because I was actually thinking that over the last couple of days. I’ve been going out there trying to put the world on your shoulders. That’s not the way I play.
“There was a bit of press going around that you’re haven’t performed but you put that to the side and go out there and play with that freedom and fearlessness, and that’s what my intentions were tonight and it came off.”
Waugh was later quick to acknowledge Lynn’s effort with another tweet.

Lynn missed one milestone, but reached another-
Had he scored six more runs at the same pace, Lynn would have scored the fastest century in Big Bash League. However, Lynn did reach a milestone, becoming the first batsman to pass 2000 runs in the BBL.
