Esteban Ocon may have to officially wave his F1 dreams goodbye for the next year atleast. That is the claim made by BBC’s chief F1 correspondent, Andrew Benson. There have been reports stating that Kubica is in pole to get the vacant Williams seat.
However, these are more credible as it comes from the chief reporter for BBC, which is quite a well-reputed media organization. Benson tweeted to call out a fake Kubica account confirming his move, and then put forth the inside knowledge that he had of the Ocon-Kubica situation.

Further to this, Ocon is least likely not least because Williams don’t want a one-year deal & Mercedes want Ocon free for a race seat somewhere (quite possibly Merc) in 2020. So it’s Kubica v Sirotkin. Groundhog Day, really. This time, Bill Murray might finally change, though

Ever since Force India have been taken over by a investor-team led by Lawrence Stroll, Lance’s father, it has been widely expected that Ocon will be booted out to accommodate the Canadian. Benson had a theory for why they had not announced it yet too.
Meanwhile, it remains a mystery why Force India don't announce Stroll. Everyone knows he's got the drive. They word is it's because Stroll doesn't want to upset Ocon, his friend, but it's not like Ocon doesn't know he's out

Ocon has been viewed as one of the most talented drivers in the grid currently, with the Frenchman having finished 26 consecutive races before crashing out in last year’s Brazilian Grand Prix. Along with Perez, he has proved to be a solid runner for Force India.

His parent employers, Mercedes, had placed him in the Force India because of their engine deal with them, which gave him the opportunity to prove himself with a midfield car and he has definitely delivered.
He did not have the best of weekends in Brazil, when he made headlines for all the wrong reasons, taking out Max Verstappen because of a ‘thoughtless’ collision, while his rival was leading.
It has led to a lot of backlash for him from fans, with many of them happy at the fact that he has not got a drive for next year. Mercedes are apparently working on pairing him with Lewis Hamilton in 2020, after Bottas runs out his contract with them.

Ocon also did himself no favours, rejecting a move to IndyCar, wanting to test with F1 teams and await his opportunity instead. Some may claim it to be a senseless move but from the perspective of his F1 career, it seems to be the right decision.
