Battlefield 2042 has excited the fans of the FPS genre which has gained a lot of notoriety these past few months. Many of the games from the FPS genre have lacked the punch and energetic environment that the DICE franchise possesses. Fans have become quite bored with the prospect of every major franchise moving towards the Battle Royale frenzy.
But it looks Battlefield 2042 will be a fresh experience for the new generation of FPS fans. With explosive and high-octane action, it seems like the game will include everything that the fans have loved the series for. Along with that, it will also arrive with a lot of new modes and features that fans have never seen before in the franchise. With many elements already available on other FPS titles, should the developers at DICE look beyond the horizon and try something from the world of Among Us?

Should Battlefield 2042 have a proximity mod feature?
Among Us doesn’t really have a lot of features and content that fans can try a lot. But the game’s modding community has been clutch in diversifying the game with unique features that players can use. One of the most popular mods in the game is the Proximity Mod which released last year. By using it, players can communicate with other impostors and crewmates if they are near them. This allowed for some hilarious interactions between them, which improved the experience quite a lot.
The idea of implementing it in the upcoming title intrigues the fans of the franchise. With a lot of action happening in the game all the time, Battlefield 2042 players would love a moment to interact with other players on the lobby. This feature will allow players to strategize with unknown players in modes like Conquest or Breakthrough. It could also create some really iconic moments in the game that can carry the tag of being made only on Battlefield.
Other features the developers can implement
But adding this feature has its own set of issues for the developers at DICE. With a total 128 players in a mode like Conquest, players will have a hard time clearing the noises of multiple teammates while focussing on the action ahead. Along with that, with it will be hard to gauge which teammate might be talking if a lot of them are sticking together at all times.
The developers can use voice features of other titles for Battlefield 2042. They can try to implement something from the Battle Royale genre with games like Call of Duty: Warzone. They might not add a Battle Royale mode to the game. But they can definitely add the open mic on death option which allows players to talk to their killer after they die for a few seconds. It’s hilarious and quite fun to hear a lot of enemies be salty about a player’s skill using this option.

It remains to be seen how communication between teammates and enemies will work in Battlefield 2042. The developers might showcase something about it during the upcoming EA Play event on July 22. But until then fans have to wait patiently to hear some information about one of the most hyped games of the year.
