‘An audible’ is an important part of the game of football. When the offense and defense of the squads huddle up for the next player, their respective coordinators communicate the play to their teammates through the radio. The team may make some last-minute changes in their play.
These changes happen at the line of scrimmage and are called audibles. In a recent NFL game, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr gave an audible call by the name of Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.
There have been many famous audible sayings such as ‘Kim Kardashian’, ‘James Harden’, ‘Tupac’, among others. A recent audible that has gone viral is that of Damian Lillard. Audible calls like these have different meanings and interpretations.

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is famous for making some of the silliest audible calls in the NFL. In a recent game against Miami Dolphins, Carr called out an audible named Lillard during the game.

Derek Carr gives Damian Lillard audible call
In a recent NFL game against Miami Dolphins, Raiders QB Derek Carr give an audible call “Damian Lillard’. ‘Damian Lillard! Damian Lillard!” Carr shouted to his teammates during the game.

After giving the Lillard audible call, Carr continued with a deep throw to Henry Ruggs III as the receiver, but that couldn’t be complete. The interpretation behind the call isn’t known yet. But Lillard is one of the best sharpshooters in the NBA from a long distance and the call could have been related to the player’s prowess from deep. The Raiders have previously used other NBA players’ names in their audible.
Lillard is a Raiders fan in the NFL and even posted about the team’s victory on Twitter.

Lillard was born in Oakland, California and his love for the Raiders is well known. The Raiders were previously an Oakland-based team but relocated to Las Vegas in 2019. The Raiders are three-time Super Bowl champions and four-time Conference champions.

Derek Carr’s Raiders defeated Miami Dolphins 31-28 in overtime yesterday. Through this victory, the Raiders improved to a 3-0 for the first time in 19 years.
