We expect the former number 1 pick Karl Anthony Towns to have a breakout season this year. And he has begun the regular season with an exceptional display of athleticism in the first quarter of their first game. He shut down the NBA fans who criticized the former number 1 pick for being unfit with an insane dunk on transition. With his Michael Jordan like athleticism he reminded the NBA exactly why he was the number 1 pick in his draft.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have started the game strong and Karl’s performance so far is crucial in that. He threw down this monster dunk on a turnover after going coast to coast at full speed.

What does this athleticism like Michael Jordan mean for the Timberwolves?

This is a fresh beginning for the Timberwolves after a rather disappointing last season. This roster has two former number 1 picks in Anthony Edwards and Towns. Along with the number 2 pick of 2015, D’Angelo Russell. So this roster has no paucity of talent. However, the Minnesota Timberwolves look set to be the dark horses of this season. Sadly, they are not in the discussion of being favorites to win it all. Yet their starting lineup is one to watch out for.

This burst of athleticism has added to the dominant performance on the scoreboard so far for the Wolves. They often criticized Karl Anthony Towns for failing to fulfill the promising potential he showed which made him the number 1 pick. However, with a healthy roster this season, Towns could be on the verge of finally proving the critics wrong.

His performance on the floor makes him look like a man among boys at the moment. With his confident display in the first half, he and Anthony Edwards currently have 21 points each. Will the Minnesota Timberwolves live up to this expectation? Or will they have another bust season?
