Boston Celtics are one of the most decorated teams in the NBA with 17 championships. Their last win came in 2008 when their ‘Big Three’ of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett fired them to their 17th title. The team went 66-16 in the regular season and defeated the likes of Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Detroit Pistons, before beating the Lakers in the Finals.
Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce had a good relationship during their stint in Boston. However, their relations soured when Ray left the Celtics to join Miami Heat in 2012. But Allen’s move paid off; he won the second NBA title of his career with the Heat in 2013.
Ray Allen’s decision to leave the Celtics didn’t go down well with Pierce and Garnett. However, after so many years, the duo of Pierce and Allen has ended their feud.

While Allen and Pierce have decided to bury their feud in the past, Garnett and Rajon Rondo still haven’t got over Allen’s move to Miami. Pierce made it clear that he is not holding a grudge against his former teammate at the Celtics.
Just one year after Allen’s departure, Paul Pierce was traded to Brooklyn Nets in 2013. After spending one season each with Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, Pierce signed with the Clippers. But he wanted to retire in Boston and signed a ceremonial contract with the Celtics in 2017.

Ray Allen spent two seasons in Miami and retired in 2016. While his departure hurt the Celtics players that time, it doesn’t undermine the fact that he played an important role in the 2008 championship win. In fact, in the final match of the NBA finals series, Allen shot three-pointers, tying the NBA Finals record.
