New Orleans Pelicans registered their first win of the 2021-22 NBA season after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-98. However, it was the first loss of the season for the Wolves as they lost at home. The Pelicans were dominant throughout the game and led the charge in three of the four quarters.

Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas led the charge for the Pelicans as they combined for 49 points at the Target Center. Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards were the bright spots for the Wolves in the loss. But Patrick Beverley made a significant contribution off the bench as well.
However, Patrick also did something during the game that went to make a lot of buzz in the headlines. Moreover, Beverley and Valanciunas engaged in a physical altercation during the game that caught the eye of Steph Curry.

Patrick Beverley shoves Jonas Valanciunas in the latest NBA game
Minnesota guard Pat Beverley tried to irritate Pelicans star Jonas Valanciunas in the Wolves-Pelicans game. Beverley stood on the free-throw line, visibly giving Jonas a tough time. In retaliation, Jonas then tried to push Beverley but the Wolves guard reacted to the push and tried to get a physical altercation.

Things got heated between the two, with the refs quickly separating them, trying to calm the situation down. The Lithuanian center reacted calmly and tried to talk it through to the refs. However, even as Beverley tried to get onto Jonas’ nerves, the situation boiled down eventually.
Stephen Curry reacts to Beverley and Jonas incident
The altercation between Beverley and Jonas attracted mixed reactions from the NBA fans. However, going by his reaction on Instagram, it is safe to say, Warriors star Steph Curry found the whole episode absolutely hilarious.

Beverley was one of the best defenders in the league last season with the Clippers. His exploits in the playoffs made him one of the most demanded players in the league. He has previously talked about his defensive approach and that he ‘likes touching‘.

Beverley’s Wolves now face a tough challenge away from home as they are up against defending champions Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum later this week.
