Injury woes might strike yet again as LeBron James is reportedly playing through an injury against the Pistons. This means that he might look at missed time if the injury is too serious. The Lakers, who seemed to be cruising at the end of the third quarter fumbled and made it a close game for the Pistons.

However, LeBron James’ injury is a cause of concern among the fans.

After a neck-to-neck display in the first two quarters, the Lakers were at a point pulling away in the third quarter and were up 15 points.

What does this mean for LeBron James and the Lakers?

Yet again, LeBron James was carrying the major load of the offense. However, the Lakers’ defense was better tonight than it was against the Kings.

LeBron James is currently the third highest with respect to the minutes per game played in the league. He clocks an absurd 36.9 minutes per game.

Until the third quarter, the only two bench players to have contributed offensively were Talen Horton Tucker and Wayne Ellington. At the end of the third quarter, only the Big Three were in double figures for the Lakers.

Meanwhile, Grant and Cunningham were carrying the offense for the Pistons with some support from Diallo.

After missing a few games because of an abdominal strain, LeBron is back to being completely healthy. However, as a 36-year-old, having to play these many minutes is absurd. The Lakers can’t become a one-legged franchise when they have 3 all-star caliber superstars on their team.

If anything, it’s LeBron‘s versatility that puts coach Vogel in a tough spot. James’ ability to play in any position makes him indispensable to the franchise.
