As the close game between the Nuggets and Utah Jazz neared its end, a fight broke out between JaMychal Green and Hassan Whiteside in the fourth quarter. This scuffle resulted in a double-tech for both the players. However, JaMychal Green was also ejected from the game as he pushed an official in the process of the heated fight.
After Nikola Jokic left the game due to an injury, this was the last thing the Nuggets would’ve wanted.

What does this mean for the Denver Nuggets?
Losing Nikola Jokic to a first-half injury was already a setback to the morale of the squad. This fight only indicated the increased tension on the court that resulted in bad decisions from Green; under no circumstances is a player justified in pushing an official.
Ever since Malice at the Palace, the NBA has been extremely strict about the players’ conduct on the court. Touching, let alone shoving, an official is the equivalent of hitting a police officer in uniform. It is absolutely unacceptable to the league, and thus resulted in both players getting ejected from the court.
