New York Knicks started their 2021-22 NBA campaign with an emphatic victory over Boston Celtics at home. The Knicks won 138-134 against the Celtics in what was a double-overtime thriller. This game will certainly go down as one of the most entertaining opening fixtures of all time.
Knicks’s star duo of Julius Randle and Evan Fournier stepped up and combined for 67 points at the Madison Square Garden. However, Celtics guard Jaylen Brown broke the franchise record for most points in a season opener with 46 points. But it wasn’t enough to get his team a win in the opening game.
It was a roller coaster ride for the Knicks fans as the NY-based side squandered their lead several times during the game. But in the end, it is the win that matters and Knicks fans went berserk after the final buzzer.

It was New York Knicks’ first opening game win since 2018. But the team has massively improved since then. They signed seven players to their roster during the offseason, such as Evan Fournier, Kemba Walker, among others. If Julius Randle manages to replicate his last season’s exploits with the Knicks this season, it could be another exciting season for the fans.
