Unfortunately, following his business venture with WynnBet, he was forced to sell his stake in the Sacramento Kings. Following the official confirmation of the deal, Shaquille O’Neal felt grateful to be a part of it. Subsequently, O’Neal took to Twitter to pour out his heart about the tough decision of selling his stake.

The NBA legend spent the most successful time of his career in the Los Angeles Lakers. Therefore, purchasing a stake in the same state rival post-retirement would’ve clearly been a tough decision for Shaq. However, he stuck by it for 8-9 years and built an emotional attachment with the franchise.

His heartwarming tweet read: “As a result of a new business endeavor, I was required by NBA rules to sell my interest in the Sacramento Kings. I want to thank the fans, the city of Sacramento, Vivek Ranadive, and the entire Kings organization for our great partnership…” He ended his message with gratitude and said “Till we meet again…”

Shaquille O’Neal already has a $400 million net worth for him to make such decisions over money. Even though he stands to profit what will at least be over a million dollars above the initial cost. While O’Neal has always led a rather simple life, he has always had an eye for new business ventures. His involvement with a betting app required him to sell his stake in the team for obvious reasons. And as we know, Shaq is never scared of taking risks as long as it is for something he believes in.
