Michael Jordan is regarded by many as the greatest of all time in basketball. He became famous during the 90s when he helped the Bulls win six NBA championships. Jordan’s popularity made him friends with some of the biggest celebrities in the world. As Jordan loved to play golf, he developed a friendship with golf icon Tiger Woods.
Three-time US Open winner, Tiger Woods has been friends with Jordan for a long time. The two have been spotted playing golf several times. However, we’ve barely seen them playing basketball. Tiger Woods’ lawyer asked him to stay away from Michael Jordan
John Merchant was Tiger Woods’ lawyer when he was young, coming fresh off Stanford University. However, he warned Woods to stay away from Jordan back in 1996.
“Michael can play basketball as well as anyone who’s ever played the game,” John Merchant said according to Yahoo Sports.
“There isn’t anything else that Michael is good at doing. Nothing! And he’s had too many years of being out there in public. So he’s going to try to use you.”
However, as time passed by, the two came closer and now share a great relationship. For neutrals, it’s incredible to see two greats of their respective sport enjoying each other.
