The Milwaukee Bucks finally ended their three-game losing streak after their win against the Detroit Pistons. The Bucks lost Khris Middleton to the league’s health and safety protocols, and they also lost Jrue Holiday to an early-season injury.
Subsequently, this three-game losing streak seemed to be the start of a bad run for the defending champions. Nevertheless, the reigning NBA Finals MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo snapped that streak to the relief of Bucks fans. He led the team to a victory with a near triple-double performance on the night.

Thereafter, Giannis expressed his relief with some subtle humor and what might be a dig at the Detroit Pistons. This is what Giannis said in the post-game interview.
Giannis Antetokounmpo reacts to Bucks snapping their losing streak
After the twenty-eight point blowout that the Bucks rendered to the Pistons, Giannis expressed his relief to the media. In the post-game press conference, Giannis began his interview by breathing a sigh of relief that the losing streak is broken. He said, “We won, oh my god! Oh my goodness. I thought we were tanking, I thought were tanking for the number one pick. Phew! Thank you.”
Giannis was the only one of the Bucks’ big three available to play against the Pistons. While he got a lot of support from the bench, he was the primary playmaker and scorer for the Bucks on the night. He had 28 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. Moreover, he also got a significant contribution from Jordan Nwora, Justin Robinson, and the Milwaukee fan favorite: Bobby Portis.
What does this mean for the Bucks and Pistons?

The Detroit Pistons have tanked the past two seasons in search of first-round lottery picks in the draft. Therefore, now combined with Jerami Grant, they have two young core pieces in Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes (and arguably Isaiah Stewart).
They were all first-round picks in the past two drafts. So in this victory against the Pistons, Giannis saying he felt the Bucks were tanking might be a subtle dig at the Pistons failing to rebuild despite tanking.
Nevertheless, in the absence of his core teammates, Giannis snapping the losing streak is a good sign for the defending champions. Do you think they can go on a winning streak from here on out? Let us know in the comments section below.
