Los Angeles Lakers are currently 23-24 in the Western Conference as they lost 113-107 to Miami Heat on the road. The Heat dominated the Lakers for the majority of the game and registered their 30th win of the season. However, the scoreline doesn’t reflect how dominating the Heat was throughout the game.
LeBron James scored 33 points against the Heat, but without much support from others, even he couldn’t stop them. The Heat led the Lakers in the first three quarters and at one point were leading by 26 points. While the final scoreline would suggest a 6-point loss, that is due to a late Lakers resurgence in the final quarter.
It’s fair to say that the Lakers have not lived up to the expectations and hype they got during the off-season when they did a massive roster overhaul. While the whole team should be blamed for the woeful performances this season, head coach Frank Vogel is facing the danger of getting sacked. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas has also come out and criticized Vogel for the Lakers’ woes this season.

Gilbert Arenas criticizes Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel for telling Dwight Howard that he won’t play the game
Frank Vogel is facing criticisms from all sides due to the team’s performances this season. However, Gilbert Arenas is particularly upset with Vogel over the incident where he told Dwight Howard that he will not play the game.
“There was one thing that I just despised that he did, and this goes for any coach in sports,” Gilbert Arenas said.
“Game six, he tells Dwight Howard that he will not be playing this game. As a player, just sports knowledge, that was the dumbest thing you can possibly do. How do you tell a player that he’s not going to play? How do you know that? The game dictates who you’re going to play. See you already pre-judging what you’re gonna do. That’s the problem there. You’re not watching the actual game in real-time. You’re playing the game on what you think is gonna happen. It’s chess, right? You can have your moves, but if he’s not moving how you figured it out, you have to adjust to that.”

Los Angeles Lakers are in a slump and desperately needed a win against the Heat to gain some momentum. However, now they’ve lost and have no time to reflect upon, as they face Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.
