Following Kobe Bryant’s tragic death last year, the world continues to mourn the legend. Be it a dedicated fan, family, or friend, Bryant’s absence is constantly felt. Over the past months, we have seen Pau Gasol becoming a strong support system to the Bryants, spending as much time with them as he can.
Gasol’s love for Bryant’s daughter is constantly spoken of; the basketball player has promised to go and look after Bryant and his girl. Not only is Gasol close to the girls, but their families have also spent time together. Moreover, Gasol’s daughter is also named after 13-year-old Gianna Bryant, who passed away with Bryant in the tragic helicopter crash.

Gasol’s much-awaited documentary is now available on Amazon Prime. The 41-year-old’s life is covered in four episodes. It goes without saying that Gasol spoke of Bryant and his children, who the former loves very, very much. Both players bonded during their time playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, their friendship withstanding the test of time.
“He used to tell me, ‘I’ll send you my daughters so you can teach them about culture, awareness, things. And you send me your sons and I’ll teach them to be tough, to fight, to work and go for it,'” Gasol said in Pau Gasol: It’s About the Journey, Episode 1. He added, “Well, I’ll try to be there for his daughters”.

Gasol on Natalia Bryant
He spoke of Natalia Bryant as well, who is currently studying while also pursuing modeling. Gasol has maintained a close bond with all of Bryant’s daughters, a sure-shot presence in their life. “The eldest, Natalia, is practically a woman. And his two little girls had practically no chance to get to know him. So…little else,” a teary-eyed Gasol continued. “It’s a very tough moment to come to grips with, to absorb, to accept”.
