LeBron James is a common name that comes up in a discussion surrounding the greatest player of all time. There’s a reason his moniker is ‘The King” in the league. And even the best players in the league currently acknowledge his greatness. Giannis Antetokounmpo still believes he is the best in the league even at 36.
And now, NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal has come out and said that LeBron has a mixture of tendencies from Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. Arguably, the greatest passer and greatest scorer to play the game. A legend claiming that LeBron has a combination of high-level skills is a testament to his greatness. Shaq showers praise on LeBron
On Brandon Robinson’s radio show, Shaquille O’Neal said LeBron has the tendencies of both Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. Michael Jordan and LeBron James are two of the few players who have never averaged below 20 points per game in their entire careers. So they both have undoubtedly showcased their consistency to score and carry the offense of a team.
Magic Johnson was the primary playmaker on his team throughout his career. And LeBron James has done that for most of his career as well. In terms of numbers, LeBron does not even come close to Magic’s consistency in assists. However, LeBron has still averaged a steady 7 assists a game throughout his career. So his playmaking is still considerably above average to be compared to the greats.

LeBron James has often called out Shaq publicly for hating on players in the NBA. However, receiving such a compliment from Shaq shows the respect he has for LeBron. As a future Hall of Famer, LeBron James should feel obliged to receive such a compliment from his former teammate. Especially when he previously critiqued parts of the time they spent together as teammates. It should show LeBron that while his teammate called out the franchise for their treatment of LeBron, Shaquille respects LeBron and what he has done for the NBA.
