Looking back, not all practices with the two stars seemed to be as fun or peaceful. An important event of their feud was the four-time NBA champion slapping Bryant during a pickup game. Taking place during the 1998 NBA lockout, the two were already arguing over foul calls. While others tried separating them, Bryant ended up cursing.
Enraged, O’Neal ended up slapping Bryant. “His hands are huge,” said Corie Blount. “The noise was loud.”
Though Bryant admitted that their on-court relations improved, their feud off the court only worsened. Ultimately, O’Neal left the Lakers to join the Miami Heat.
