The NBA off-season might have seen some major moves including the moves for the likes of Russell Westbrook, but there is one situation which is getting out of hand, Ben Simmons’ departure from the Philadelphia 76ers.
While Simmons has been a solid player for the 76ers ever since his debut, the 25-year-old hasn’t made any major progress in his offensive game. This was the recurring theme in the playoffs where Simmons looked like a shadow of himself. Especially against the Atlanta Hawks, the 2-time All-Star’s performance was shambolic.

Unable to lock down players like Trae Young, Simmons rarely featured in closing stages of the game and one of the key reasons the team did eventually bow out of the playoffs. Given his horror show in the playoffs, the Australian is eager to move away from the 76ers and has reportedly unwilling to join the team’s training camp.

Houston Rockets reportedly eager to trade for Ben Simmons
While Simmons is eager to make a move away from Philly, few teams have emerged as a potential suitor. Considering the hefty wages he brings in and how much of assets Daryl Morey may demand for him it is understandable why the market is limited for the 76ers’ guard.
But according to NBA insider Evan Dammarell, one of the biggest suitors for Simmons are the Houston Rockets. The Rockets’ who are coming off of a terrible season, have one of the youngest sides in the league. They have even drafted some potential superstars like Jalen Green.
After talking to some folks over the weekend, it seems the Houston Rockets are seriously interested in acquiring 76ers forward Ben Simmons prior to the start of training camp.
Things remain fluid but John Wall would be headed to Philadelphia in a possible trade, per sources.

With the team trying to trade away the huge contract of John Wall and given the number of talented young players they have, Rockets certainly have the necessary assets to pull off this move.
The Rockets certainly make a great case for a probable Simmons trade. With a backcourt featuring a walking bucket like Jalen Green, Houston can use some defense in their other guard spot. The 3-time All-Star will certainly fit the mould and future proof the team as well.

As for the 76ers, John Wall might be the point guard who can truly thrive with Joel Embiid. Given his incredible athleticism and his superior offensive skills, Wall might be the missing piece of the puzzle. Unlike Simmons, Wall even has decent jumper thus adding an extra dimension to 76ers’ offense.
While matching salaries might be a tedious task, this trade looks like a win-win situation. Will the 76ers be willing to let go their star point guard though? Let us know in the comments section down below.
