The Philadelphia 76ers were surely not the busiest team in the off-season with some mediocre moves. But they were surely among the most talked about teams as their superstar guard, Ben Simmons and his trade saga, took over.
After years of struggling to prove himself in the playoffs, the Australian had a perfect chance to prove himself against the Hawks. But a colossal collapse meant that Simmons was criticised heavily by Philly fans. Ever since then, the 25-year-old’s future with the team has looked uncertain.
While initially it seemed like a trade was imminent with the 3-time All-Star missing the pre-season and training camp, the 6’8″ guard showed up to the 76ers facility and even attended some practice sessions thus his future has remained ambiguous with the franchise.

Ben Simmons intentions for a trade become clearer
With Simmons attending some practice sessions with the team, fans have been hopeful that the 3-time All-Star sticks around. Even many teammates have stepped in and spoke in support of giving time to the Australian.
But it seems in his time away the 25-year-old is angling a move away from the 76ers. According to the recent reports, the guard is eyeing a move to the Western Conference juggernauts of Golden State Warriors.
With the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, Simmons’ addition will surely make the 76ers a super team. The Steve Kerr led side have been explosive offensively but their defense can get an upgrade and Simmons can be a game changer.

But with executive Daryl Morey hellbent in getting the best deal, the Warriors will have to give up some of their up-and-coming stars and lottery picks in order to acquire the guard. Another major hiccup will be the fit Simmons will have in the team. The Warriors traditionally have had sharpshooters in their team and even their role players have much better shooting averages than league average.
With Simmons still not showing any signs of showing a three-pointer, the Warriors might have a hard time accommodating the Australian, especially in the guard spot. Do you think the 76ers will trade Simmons or will we see the process yet again?
