The Ben Simmons trade saga has been fascinating to NBA fans all around the world. Ever since the off-season began, it has become increasingly clear that Simmons is not willing to stay with the Philadelphia 76ers.

After a couple of disappointing runs in the playoffs and head coach Doc Rivers prioritising center Joel Embiid, the Australian seems frustrated with the franchise and is looks determined to move away from the team once and for all.

While the reports of Simmons’ displeasure to continue with the 76ers grows, the number of trade rumors are increasing rapidly as well. Be it a trade for a superstar guard like Bradley Beal or Simmons possibly forming a super-team with the Warriors, the scenarios keep on gathering momentum.

Ben Simmons’ open to trade to surprise destination

While teams like the Portland Trail Blazers and the likes of Warriors have been a constant in the Simmons’ trade rumors, there are undoubtedly many teams who can possibly make a swing for the 24-year-old.

One of the sleeper contenders for the same are the Sacramento Kings. According to the Athletic’s NBA insider David Aldridge, the 3-time All-Star is willing to move to Sacramento if the Kings do make an offer.

The Kings who have a great cast of young players haven’t made it to the playoffs for a while now. Their biggest Achilles’ heel so far has been their defense. Bringing in Simmons might be the move they need to finally make it to the playoffs or at least the play-in tournament.

But a trade with the 76ers led by a GM like Daryl Morey will be tricky. Morey has been notorious in making the best value trades for his teams. So getting an All-Star and potentially All-NBA player like Simmons will be tough.

In order to match his ginormous wages, the Kings can trade their shooting guard Buddy Hield who has a hefty contract but there is no doubting the floor spacing he brings to the team. Another player the Kings can add to the trade is Marvin Bagley III. Last season, reports of Bagley’s imminent departure were rampant.

But the Kings couldn’t find a suitable destination. Adding Bagley and Hield along with a couple of picks might do the trick for the Kings. Do you think Sacramento will pull the trigger on a Ben Simmons trade?
