The tide of the initial shocks of Ben Simmons’ trade request finally looked ready to settle at the beginning of this month. However, another rumor has sparked on the internet that has raised some eyebrows about Ben Simmons’ future.
According to trusted sources, Ben Simmons and his agent Rich Paul feel that the 76ers “exacerbated” his mental health problems. And their actions are still pushing Ben Simmons to the exit door, or at least nowhere close to his return.
Report: Ben Simmons believes the #76ers’ recent actions are exacerbating his mental health issues, and that the team wants to deem him fit to force him to play, regardless of what he tells the team’s mental health therapist.

Simmons and Paul allege the 76ers are rushing him to return
After the rumors emerged linking Ben Simmons to a potential trade with the Celtics, the 76ers thought their misery was nearing an end. However, since we have no confirmation at the moment, even that does not seem like a seed that will yield fruit. Especially since the 76ers want Jaylen Brown in return, a future superstar who the Celtics would definitely not want to get rid of.
Nevertheless, there’s a difference between wanting to leave and wanting to consult a professional for help in staying. While Ben Simmons might struggle with his decision of wanting to stay or not, one crucial problem for him is his mental health not allowing him to play.
And Simmons is allegedly blaming the 76ers for not being supportive and forcing him to expedite his return. It is natural that Ben might want to expedite his return too since the 76ers keep fining him for missing games.
But knowing your mental health is one of the key strengths of an excellent athlete and sportsperson, Simmons might play because of the duress from the front office. But if he isn’t ready to play at his highest potential and with the confidence he needed, then what good is it for the 76ers?
