Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are two names that always come up during the GOAT conversations. Jordan has been more successful in terms of trophies, Kobe had his loyalty and longevity. However, the two had a lot of respect for each other, both on and off the court.
Kobe Bryant spent 20 years with the Lakers in the NBA and is only behind five players in the all-time seasons played list. His last season wasn’t something that the Lakers enjoyed in terms of results.

The Lakers finished 17-65 during the 2015-16 season, their worst record in the franchise history. But Lakers fans enjoyed every single game of Kobe as it was his last season in the NBA. Jordan, the owner of Charlotte Hornets, also prepared a short farewell for Kobe when he played his last game in Charlotte.

On this day, 6 years ago, Kobe Bryant played his last game in Charlotte. Michael Jordan is the majority owner of the Charlotte-based franchise and decided to prepare a farewell for Kobe before that match. Jordan had a heartwarming message for Kobe before that game and admitted that he has been a big fan of Kobe.
“I’ve always been like a big brother, like a little brother. We communicate all the time.” Jordan said. “I want to congratulate you, Vanessa, and the girls. You’ve been a big help to the game of basketball. You helped NBA, you helped promoted, pretty sure you got a lot of fans all over the world. I’m a big fan, I still love watching you play.”
