Russell Westbrook is the latest addition to the list of Lakers who have been put in the Health and Safety Protocols. After they tested rookie Talen Horton-Tucker and the results of his test came positive, several Lakers have been placed into the protocol procedure. Therefore, the Lakers roster will be extremely thin in terms of depth when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow.
According to LA reporter Ryan Ward, this is what the injury situation looks like for the Lakers. Surprisingly, this list also includes names like Anthony Davis and LeBron James. So, are LA’s Big Three completely unavailable for their matchup against the Timberwolves?

What does this mean for LeBron James, and the Lakers?
Trevor Ariza and Kendrick Nunn are the only players who will miss this game for non-protocol reasons. The list of Lakers who will miss tomorrow’s game includes former All-Star Dwight Howard and other stars like Avery Bradley and Malik Monk. However, the most worrying factor for the Lakers is that it’s probable that Davis and LeBron James might not play either.
James’ abdominal strain has been a worry for him for a couple of weeks now. Nevertheless, he often powers through those injuries even in year 19 of his career. While they should not need him to do that, the circumstances leave him no choice. LA fans will hope that James is only needed for limited minutes on the floor so that he avoids making his injury worse.

Earlier this week, reports emerged that the Lakers have had internal discussions about trading Westbrook. Then, reports emerged that he might be on his way to the 76ers for Ben Simmons. However, nothing has so far materialized except rumors and reports.
So, is the All-Star on his way out of the Lakers? Considering that he is set to miss a couple of games now, this gives the Lakers front office time to assess his long-term future with the franchise.
