Anthony Davis dodges major controversy on media day. The 8x All-star power-forward is back after a forgetful season last year. While addressing the media, Davis made a cheeky remark that could’ve garnered major backlash from Milwaukee fans.

The LeBron James and Anthony Davis-led Lakers failed to make the play-in tournament last season. Due to poor roster construction, injuries and bad management, the Lakers finished the season at 11th in the conference with a measly 33 wins on the calendar. Most of the blame was siphoned to the Laker’s new acquisition, Russell Westbrook.
But seasoned Lakers fans believe that the team hasn’t been the same since the championship win in the bubble. Since the 2020 season, the lakers have failed to make it past the 1st Round, with Anthony Davis’ absence due to injury being a major reason.
Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Anthony Davis
The past two seasons have been historic for the Greek freak. Giannis finally brought the championship back to Milwaukee after 50 years, winning his first Finals MVP. The back-to-back MVP silenced his critics after a historic playoff run, cementing his legacy among the all-time greats. Last season the Milwaukee Bucks were the favorites to make it out of the east, but owing to injuries, they failed to run it back.

Giannis and Davis were equal rivals in the eyes of the fans, but the past two years have tarnished the reputation of Davis and elevated Giannis to another dimension. Only time will tell if Davis will turn this narrative around. During his latest presser, Davis reiterated that he was not worried about people’s perception of him. He also made a remark that sounded like he indirectly mentioned the Buck’s star forward, but later cleared the air about the same.

Going into the new season, the Bucks again stand at the top of the rankings. In comparison, the Lakers seem to be near the bottom. The heat is rising for the Star, and the expectations of Laker fans are at an all-time high as LeBron nears 40.
