The Los Angeles Lakers had a campaign to forget last season. Marred with injuries and a roster that didn’t fit, LeBron James and Co. struggled to make an impact on the floor and eventually crashed out.

But one of the biggest positives last season was Alex Caruso. The 6’3″guard was a spark plug off of the bench and was a menace on both sides of the floor. Be it his tenacity in defending other guards or his flashy passing during attack, Caruso certainly stood out for the Lakers last season.

Given the impressive season he had, the Lakers’ were expected to retain the 26-year-old who officially became a free agent. But Rob Pelinka chose to revamp the roster instead and let go off the free agent who signed for the Chicago Bulls instead.

LeBron James reacts to hilarious Alex Caruso meme

Alex Caruso was surely a fan favorite for the Lakers, but perhaps his biggest fan in the Purple and Gold roster was ‘King James’. Impressed with his two-way play, James often called Caruso the GOAT.

But with the 26-year-old gone now, Lakers’ fans are in the lookout for the ‘Bald Eagle’s’ replacement. One of the players who seems to fit into the mold is rookie guard Austin Reaves. In a recent post, Purple and Gold fans had a hilarious meme of Caruso passing on the baton to Reaves.

LeBron James also reacted to the same. In a recent tweet, LBJ had multiple laughing emojis to the meme. While it might be too early to compare the two, Reaves might be the ideal replacement for Caruso.
