Los Angeles Lakers finally ended their winless record after an emphatic victory over the Grizzlies. The Lakers, led by LeBron James, went into the game all guns blazing and downed the Grizzlies at the Staples Center. LeBron James and Anthony Davis starred for the Lakers and combined for 41 points against the Memphis-based franchise.

Lakers fans are finally happy after a much-needed win, but the night could have turned out differently. LeBron survived a major injury narrowly in the first half vs the Grizzlies. But thankfully, it didn’t look bad at that moment and the Lakers star continued to play.

LeBron James questionable for the Spurs game

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Los Angeles Lakers have downgraded LeBron’s status to questionable for the game against Spurs. Notably, the Lakers travel to San Antonio for their first away game of the season.

In the first quarter against the Grizzlies, star guard Desmond Bane approached the rim and made some contact with Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard was trying to block Bane’s shot. However, Bane got dis-balanced and fell on the wood, crashing into James’ leg. LeBron quickly fell on the ground in pain and the Staples Center could hear a groan from the four-time champion.

“The first thing I was thinking to myself was, ‘Not again,'” LeBron said after the game.

“Because obviously, it was almost similar, but not the same kind of play. Guy falls into my leg and there’s nothing you can do about it and I couldn’t get my leg out of there in time.”

Regardless, LeBron continued the game and finished with 19 points. But now he is questionable to start the game against the Spurs due to his sore right ankle. It is yet to be known if the injury is serious or not. However, if LeBron missed a game or two due to his right ankle, it shouldn’t be a serious problem and he should be fit to play in less than a week. But with the Lakers just starting to win, it could be a piece of bad news.
