The Lakers beat the Houston Rockets for the third time this season. However, LeBron was impressed with what he saw from Houston’s backcourt. Including the exceptional performance from Kevin Porter Jr on his long-awaited return. When James Harden was traded from the Rockets, the only truly valuable asset they got in return were future assets. And it triggered a forced rebuilding process where Houston looked for a new franchise cornerstone. The most common way of finding a franchise cornerstone is tanking a season to get a higher draft pick in the upcoming draft class.

Therefore, when Houston lost Harden to a forced trade, they had no other option but to be patient with their rebuilding process. And indeed, that arguably intentional tank got them a future superstar in Jalen Green. We aren’t the only ones saying this. Even LeBron James feels the league needs to watch out for Houston’s backcourt.

LeBron James is impressed with the Houston Rockets backcourt

When asked about Kevin Porter Jr and Jalen Green, LeBron James had all praises for the Houston backcourt duo. He said, “It was two dynamic guys who are very explosive with the ball. And Jalen Green knows how to come off pin downs and rise and shoot. He’s going to get continually better and better as his game evolves. Obviously, the athleticism that both of them present is really good.”

The aftershock of the James Harden seems to be finally subsiding as the new players have gotten well adjusted to the team. Their offensive production is nowhere close to what Harden did for them. Combined, they stacked up 46 points in this game and hope to average 50+ points per game someday.

Nevertheless, these two bright young prospects even have LeBron excited. So it is natural that even Houston fans are excited to see this duo on the court.
