Los Angeles Lakers, determined to push for their 18th NBA championship in the coming season, have assembled a ‘super team’. 13 players have left the Lakers roster as well, but Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka has worked very hard in signing players through trades and free agency. They have had 13 incomings so far during the off-season.

After cross-town rivals Los Angeles Clippers waived Rajon Rondo earlier this month, the Lakers pounced upon the opportunity to bring him back to LA on a one-year deal.

Another top addition and arguably the best in the window so far, Russell Westbrook joined the Lakers in a trade deal from Washington Wizards. But new signings Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook haven’t gotten along with each other so far in their career. However, Lakers guard Rondo is looking forward to ‘putting everything to past’ for the greater good.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Rajon Rondo opens up on his feud with Russell Westbrook

In a recent interview, Rajon Rondo opened up on getting along with the new Lakers signings in the coming season. Rondo was asked who he was excited to play with at the Lakers in his second stint.

“Carmelo,” Rondo replied.

“Obviously, Russ, Trev (Ariza). I look forward to talking to Trev, learning his mind, his focus,” he added.

“We’ve had a lot of great battles with a lot of these guys that’s now teammates. I’m looking forward to putting everything in the past and putting it together for the greater good of the team and winning a championship here.”

Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook are both very competitive and play their hearts out for their team. So, a small beef between the players while playing against each other is no surprise. What exactly caused the beef between the two is not known, but during the Orlando bubble, Westbrook and Rondo’s brother, William, engaged in an argument during the Lakers vs Rockets playoffs.

Last year, Rondo faced Russell Westbrook when the Hawks played Washington Wizards. They got into things during the game as it heated up.

However, now, Rondo wants to put everything in the past. With so many quality additions and the Lakers already having a top roster, it’ll be interesting to see how they perform in the coming season. The duo of Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook will try to combine with LeBron and AD in their pursuit for an NBA championship.
