Malik Monk was really starting to make a case for himself in the starting lineup alongside the big three of LeBron, Davis, and Westbrook. In the three games he played during the preseason, he averaged 12.7 PPG in 21.0 MPG and made eight of his 17 three-pointers attempted (47.1%). He added quality to the Lakers’ offense and made a good impact defensively. With Trevor Ariza injured, Malik would have been considered for the starting spot this season. However, it is being reported that he could be back for the season opener and could win his place back.
