Lakers’ Lebron James Applauds Devin Booker for Buzzer Beater Against LA Clippers

The NBA returning to action is something we all deserved during this pandemic. So far, the seeding games are proving to be exciting matchups, which is highly building up our anticipation for the playoffs. Who knew that the Phoenix Suns would register such a thrilling victory against the LA Clippers? Well, Devin Booker proved that he can never be counted out at clutch moments!

A nail-biting finish saw the Clippers lose to the Suns at the buzzer. In fact, they have now lost two of the three seeding games inside the Bubble. On the other hand, the Suns are 3-0 in the NBA bubble. They have had a perfect start to their restart campaign, which also fires up the battle for the last playoff spot in the western conference. 

Devin Booker also earned the approval of the King with his masterclass against the Clippers. LeBron James could not hide his excitement after the Suns bet the Lakers’ city rivals. The four-time MVP shared a photo of Booker making the game-winner on his Instagram story.

Devin Booker reflects on his game-winning shot against the Clippers

There’s not much you can do when you got Kawhi Leonard and Paul George guarding you inside the perimeter, right? PG and the ‘Klaw’ are definitely the best in the business. But Devin Booker showed what he is capable of with an extraordinary buzzer-beater to get the Suns over the finish line. 

With just seconds to go, the Suns got possession through a crucial steal at the offensive end. Booker took control with the clock winding down. A beautiful fadeaway jumper sealed the game, as Kawhi and PG could do nothing but watch the ball go into the basket. Following the victory, Booker reflected on his game-winner and what went through his mind during the last seconds. 

 “After we got the steal and the ball with 10 seconds to go, I just wanted to make sure I took the last shot, giving them no time on the other end,” Booker said. “I knew the double team was coming, so I attacked the opposite way. There’s a lot of length with Kawhi (Leonard). So pump-faked, got him in the air, and (took the) fade away shot.”

Devin Booker has been nothing short of phenomenal since the NBA’s restart. The 2020 All-Star has been averaging 30.6 points in the three games bubble games that he’s played. The Suns definitely have a player for the future. How long do you think the Suns can keep Devin Booker at Phoenix?
