Towards the end of his post-game presser, LeBron was asked about the challenges that arise when trying to focus on playing basketball. Does missing the family stands as a major factor in the players’ minds?
LeBron mentioned that once the players step out on the court, “a game is a game.” Moreover, he spoke about the “unbelievable sacrifice” that the players are making by agreeing to play in the bubble.
The four-time MVP explained how on a normal routine players have a hectic schedule of traveling almost daily across the country, which is indeed tiring. But LeBron feels this is the most challenging version of them all.
“I miss the hell out of my family,” LeBron said. “My wife, my kids, my mother, and so on. It’s a huge challenge to be able to stay locked in because, at the end of the day when you get out on the floor, you have a job to do.
“Me personally, I have a job to do to continue to make this team go in the right direction,” he continued. “So I’m able to lock in on that and then at the same time, keep my family, keep my loved ones in my heart and in my mind as well.”

The Lakers are certainly locked in with their winning mindset in the bubble. Moreover, the purple and gold have sealed their place as the #1 seed in the west.
The last time the Lakers were the top seed was in the 2009-10 NBA season. Kobe Bryant led the team in scoring, averaging 27.0 points per game in the regular season. Moreover, the Lakers went on to win the championship that season, beating the Celtics 4-2 in the finals.
