The Los Angeles Lakers are taking on the Orlando Magic in their second scrimmage game today. Just a day ago, they lost to a Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks, who bounced back in the second half to take the victory against LeBron James and the Lakers. But, the road doesn’t end there.

These games are only for the purpose of getting back into rhythm ahead of the season’s restart. Teams experiment with their lineups during these scrimmages. Furthermore, they compare the performance results which can be later used to achieve efficient outcomes. For the Lakers, it is their best shot at the title since their last title triumph in 2010.

LeBron James certainly looks capable of leading the team to glory this year. The king is backed by his head-coach who holds him in high regard. Coach Frank Vogel had a few pointers to give the media about the team’s star man.

Vogel talked about LeBron’s brief and flashy fifteen minutes against the Mavs. The Lakers head-coach also hinted that King James has not slowed down a bit since coming back from lockdown.

“More than anything how vocal he is on the defensive end of the floor,” Vogel said, talking about LeBron’s ability to command his teammates. “We’re trying to get new guys up to speed with how we do things, strengthen the habits that work for us.”

Lakers head-coach continues to make the case for LeBron James to be crowned as this year’s MVP

The debate for the 2020 NBA MVP is a blazing one as two strong contenders dominate the discussion. People are arguing if it should be Giannis Antetokounmpo or LeBron James that should take home the honors this year.

Coach Vogel gave a remainder on how good LeBron is on both ends of the court. An unstoppable two-way game is what makes Bron this year’s MVP according to Vogel.

“One of the biggest reasons why I think he’s the MVP… when you have the quarterback of the defense and the quarterback of the offense the way he does it, the best in the league, that’s the argument right there,” Vogel said, as per Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.

He shared that the fans and the media will get to see more of his brilliance in an empty arena. “Media and opposing teams are probably seeing that more with the fan-less environment, but it’s something that’s not new to us, and has been a huge part of our success this year,” Vogel said.
